A direct flight from the UK to Qatar’s state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport in Doha takes approximately 7 hours, making it an easy and comfortable overnight journey.
Transportation
Getting around Qatar is a breeze. The capital, Doha, boasts a brand new, spotlessly clean, and driverless Metro system that’s a joy to use.
Currency
The local currency is the Qatari Riyal (QAR). Credit and debit cards are accepted almost everywhere, from the giant shopping malls to the high-end restaurants. It is, however, always a good idea to have a small amount of cash for shopping in the souqs or for tipping.
Languages
Arabic is the official language, but English is the main language of business and is spoken fluently everywhere you’ll go as a visitor. You’ll have absolutely no problem communicating.

Qatar is a desert nation with two distinct seasons: hot and hotter! Timing is everything.
Winter (November - early April): This is the season of absolute perfection. You can expect beautiful, warm, sunny days (around 24°C) and pleasantly cool evenings. It is the ideal time to visit for any and all activities.
Summer (May - October): Be prepared for extreme heat and humidity, with temperatures often soaring above 40°C. Life moves indoors to the excellent air-conditioning, but outdoor activities are very limited.
